I would like the bookmark to behave like a regular marks in terms of tracking. Because visually it appears to be following the line, but it remains fixed on the same line number

This will be fixed in the next major release.
Check out the nightly branch if you want to give it a shot, but FYI it a rework of how bookmarks are stored.
It auto migrates your current bookmarks, just be aware.

I would love for you to try it if you wish. You can target the nightly branch
