The "Working on it" comment sent an email, and the later edit with the answer sent none. Now smith reacts with 👀 (no email) and posts the answer once at the end; review threads get the answer as a thread reply.

Tested on noe.trevino/smith-test#1 (run 38): one 👀 reaction, one answer comment.
